What does 2+1 mean on Turkish apartment advertisements?
When researching Turkish properties for sale or rent, you keep seeing addition sums like 1+0, 3+1, 4+2, etc. If you have ever wondered what the + means on the property advertisements in Turkey, we have the answer:
In Turkey, the number of rooms is given separately. The first part of “the sum” is showing the number of bedrooms. The second part is showing the number of living rooms. So when you see a property advertised as 1+0, it is a studio flat. A 5+2 property is a villa or an apartment with five bedrooms and two living rooms.
Mystery solved! :)
